Adult Jiu Jitsu Classes
At Gentle Arts Dojo, we offer structured Adult classes for all levels of experience from day one beginners to seasoned veterans. These classes are the foundation of our program. They run every Monday and Wednesday at 6:15pm, and every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:15pm. We use an innovation games-based approach to teaching informed by modern coaching science, that encourages students to learn the sport by playing sport and undergoing guided exploration.
Gi and No Gi: We offer an equal balance of classes in the traditional Gi uniform and out of it, and seek to provide a comprehensive foundation in both forms of Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling.
All Levels: Our practice activities are designed by the coaches to be scalable so that both new practitioners and experienced practitioners can train in the same room and be challenged by the session.
Specific Training
Specific Training time is an opportunity for students to engage in self-directed learning. During this time students can choose the grappling practice activities that they engage in to target their specific needs. Coaches are circulating as students train giving students individualized attention and helping them problem solve when they have questions.
Beginners: New students may use this time to work through the foundational skills of our program as they progress towards their Blue Belt.
Experience Practitioners: Intermediate and Advanced students may use this time to work on new strategies or raise their level on any lagging skills.
Competitors: Competitors may use this time to spar at competition intensity or work on match-specific tactics.
